Abstract

1,188,575. Fencing. UNITED STATES STEEL CORP. 31 July, 1967 [29 July, 1966], No. 35146/67. Heading E1B. In a chain link fence system, including terminal posts, intermediate posts, top rails, brace rails and gates, each terminal post 4 has a recess 34 in flange 16 to receive one top rail 24, another top rail 24 being attached at right angles to the first top rail by an L-shaped adapter plate 36 having projections 38 engaging flanges 32 on the top rails, and a series of loops 18 to receive the end apices of the chain link fabric. Intermediate posts 40 have openings 48 through which the top rails pass, or they may receive a fitting 88 to which barbed wire is attached, the top rail 24 then passing through openings 96. Terminal posts 4 may be fitted with upper and lower brackets having slots in which the hinge pin of a gate may be bolted. Brace rails extending between the posts may be stapled to the line posts.
