1,188,568. Cable connections. KABEL-UND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE A.G. 24 Nov., 1967 [26 Nov., 1966], No. 53538/67. Heading H2E. [Also in Division H1] A device for connecting sections of communications cables is disposed longitudinally with respect to the cable sections and has in addition to connections for the cable conductors, connections for making balancing measurements and connections for capacitors and/or Pupin coils used for balancing. As shown, conductors 1 are plugged into and soldered to contacts 9 on strip assembly 8 for connection to conductors 7 printed on four insulating boards 6. The edges of the boards not bearing the conductor connections have along, one edge connections for wires 13 leading to Pupin coils 11 mounted in clips 12 and along the other edge connections for wires 15 leading to capacitors 14 and to measuring and switch devices. Conductors 7 are interconnected in the manner of a cross-bar. distributer with printed conductors on the underside of the board leading to the capacitor, Pupin coil, measurement and switch connectors. The capacitors may be strapped to plate 17 which may be swung under the board. The boards may be provided with colour markings corresponding to similarly marked conductor groups to simplify connection (Figs. 2, 3, not shown).
