Abstract
1,188,494. Cooling conductors. KABELUND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE A.G. 17 Feb., 1969 [20 Feb., 1968], No. 8457/69. Heading H1A. A cavity-insulated high-frequency coaxial cable i.e. a line is provided with means e.g. a blower 10, whereby a cooling gas is circulated through the cavity between the outer and inner conductors 1, 2 for increasing the high-frequency transmission capacity. The gas may pass through the inner conductor which then has slots 3, or a tube outside the cable. The direction of flow of gas may be changed at regular intervals of time and the conductors provided with corrugations along the surface. The cable is connected to a load through fitting 4 having an inner conductor centred by a disc 6. The blower may be connected to a fitting 4, as shown, or situated in the inner conductor or in the cavity.
