Abstract

1,186,678. Coated pipes; coating apparatus. MERCOL PRODUCTS Ltd. 10 July, 1967 [18 Nov., 1966], No. 51746/66. Headings B2K and B2L. A method of coating the internal walls of pipes, comprises the steps of supplying through separate flexible tubes, in the requisite portions for setting, a liquid cold setting resin and a liquid curing agent or initiator, mixing the liquids in or adjacent to a coating member drawn through the pipe coating the interior of the latter with the mixed liquids and allowing the liquids to set to a hard state. The liquid cold setting resin and the curing agent may be supplied to the member by means of two positive displacement pumps of appropriate swept volumes operating at the same rates. The two liquids preferably emerge from separate nozzles on the coating member and are mixed either before leaving or immediately thereafter. The two liquids may emerge from the respective nozzles or orifices into the interior of a cup which is rotated around its axis by compressed air supplied by a third flexible pipe. The resin may be an epoxy resin.
