Abstract

1,184,839. Developing electrostatic images. PITNEY-BOWES Inc. March 31, 1967 [April 4, 1966], No.14890/67. Heading G2H. A sheet 13 carrying a latent electrostatic image is immersed in developer formed of finely divided particles suspended in a dielectric carrier liquid. The particles may be carbon black, coloured resins or dye pigments while the carrier liquid may be cyclo hexane, kerosene or scylene. A lower sheet guide 2 is provided by ribs 3 while an upper rack 6 is provided by ribs 7 and an end plate 8. Rollers 14 squeeze liquid from the sheet. A zone F of liquid of substantially constant thickness is maintained between plate 8 and the sheet 13 partly by the liquid removed by rollers 14.
