Abstract

1,183,683. Applying predetermined tensions to bolts. TORQUE TENSION BOLT CO. (PTY.) Ltd. 12 Aug., 1968 [10 Aug., 1967], No. 38545/68. Heading F2H. An anchor bolt assembly comprises a member 5 anchored in a hole in a structure, a plate 6 bearing on the material surrounding the hole, a rigid member 3, a resilient bush 1 and a washer 2. The member 3 is hemispherical and seats in a hole 6B in the raised portion 6A of the plate. The bush is made of rubber or similarly resilient material and its upper surface is contoured to the shape of the curved washer. The bush has rings of different colour to indicate the amount of tension in the member 5, the tension being applied by tightening a nut 7.
