Abstract

1,183,521. Dashpots. P. C. PAYNE & CO. (KEYNSHAM) Ltd. 16 Aug., 1967 [16 May, 1966], No. 21576/66. Heading F2S. [Also in Division F1] A pneumatic actuator comprises a pair of pistons 3a, 3b slidable in cylinders 4a, 4b and spaced apart by a contoured member 12 which passes through a bulkhead 8 separating the cylinders, the space 7 between the pistons being filled with liquid, whereby movement of the pistons is damped by the liquid flowing through the varying annular passage between the bulkhead and the contoured member 12. Leakage of liquid from the space 7 is continuously replenished from a reservoir 13 through a oneway valve.
