Abstract

1,182,760. Cleaning root crops. OGDEN IRON WORKS CO. 3 Sept., 1968, No. 41938/68. Heading B2H. A screen for use in separating mesh from root crops comprises a frame 14 in which are mounted a number of rolls 17 provided with scrolls 17<SP>1</SP>, which rolls are positioned on either side of plain rolls 16a each having a section 16 of reduced diameter, the size of the scrolls 17<SP>1</SP> being larger along the sections of the scrolled roll that are opposite the sections 16 of reduced diameter. The plain rolls are driven by a motor 27 and the scrolled rolls by a motor 22.
