Abstract

1,182,378. Ratchet clutches. P. A. SOLOVIEV, G. P. KALASHNIKOV, L. I. KANTOR, and S. N. ZAMOTIN. 10 July, 1968, No. 32901/68. Heading F2C. In a one-way clutch, e.g. in a helicopter power plant, wherein rollers 3 in a cage 13 are disposed between cam surfaces 8 of a driving member 1 and a cylindrical race 5 of a driven member 2, the ends of the rollers projecting outwardlyfrom the cage are resiliently clamped between rings 14, 15 rotating with the driven member so as to provide circumferential frictional drag on the rollers. Relative rotation of the cage and the driving member 1 is limited by a driving member projection 10 engageable with the edge 11 of a cage cut-out 12. The rings 14, 15 are rotatably connected, by pins 16, with the driven member 2. At least one of the rings, e.g. 15 shown, is axially movable. As shown, the ring 15 is acted on by a wavy spring 17 reacting on a ring 18 accommodating a ball bearing 19. In Fig. 3 (not shown), the spring acting on the ring 15 is a flat spring ring having alternate lateral projections, and one of the rings 14, 15 may be integral with the driven member 2.
