Abstract
1,179,186. Extruding; metal-marking presses. FRIED-KRUPP G.m.b.H. 12 May, 1967 [14 May, 1966], No. 22260/67. Headings B3H and B3P. A press, particularly a mechanical coldextrusion press, has an ejector 8 operated by oil pumped by the movement of the press ram. The latter is connected by rods 2 to a crosshead 3 carrying two plungers 4 working in cylinders 5. Ejector 8 is connected to a piston working in a cylinder 14. During the return stroke of the ram, the plungers 4 move inwardly to force oil out of cylinders 5. A valve 12 controls this flow to the ejector cylinder 14 or to a reservoir 13. A stop 10 adjustable by a bevel wheel 11 limits the stroke of the ejector and thereafter an overload valve opens to release pressure cil to the reservoir. Valve 15 releases oil from the ejector cylinder to the reservoir and the ejector is then retracted by spring 9. Valves 12, 15 may be controlled by cam-actuated switches on the drive shaft of the press ram.
