Abstract

1,179,095. Electro-photographic toners. RANK XEROX Ltd. Jan. 10, 1967 [Jan. 14, 1966], No. 1339/67. Heading G2H. Electro-photographic toners comprise a colourant and a resin composition which is a homogeneous blend or a graft block copolymer of at least two incompatible resins, a first one of which has a glass transition temperature (Tg) greater than 20‹ C. and a second one of which has a Tg of at least 5‹ C . lower than said first resin. The colourant may be mixed with the composition in a rubber mill, and the product milled and either jet pulverized or, if the product is dispersed in water, spraydried. Comparative examples using only one of the above resins or a random copolymer are given.
