Abstract
1403622 Emitter coupled logic circuits FAIRCHILD CAMERA & INSTRUMENT CORP 17 Aug 1972 [13 Sept 1971] 38467/72 Heading H3T Emitter coupled logic circuits having emitter follower outputs are coupled by connecting erect and inverted outputs of one stage to respective bases of the next through voltage level shifting transistors. As shown, the stage 14, 15 is coupled through diode connected transistors 25-29 to the input of the next stage 40, 37. It is explained that the three transistors 19, 25, 26 and 22, 28, 29, whichever set is conducting, hold the voltage across resistor 41 three diode-voltage drops below the supply V cc and accordingly separate biasing couplings may be avoided and resistor 41 may replace the normal constant current transistor. Resistor 44 and diodes 45 and 46 provide temperature compensation. The arrangement may be used in bi-stable circuits and in NAND and NOR circuits in which case additional transistors may be connected in series with 37 and 40. Diodes 45 and 46 provide temperature compensation.
