Abstract

1,178,549. Fan heaters. SIEMENS-ELECTROGER€TE G.m.b.H. 1 March, 1967 [25 March, 1966 (2)], No. 9807/67. Heading F4V. [Also in Division H5] An elongated, one-piece hollow housing of constant cross-section 1, 4 enclosing a motordriven, transverse-flow fan 5, a heating resistance 8, a switch and control element (9, 11, Fig. 2) and a plug (16, Fig. 5) is pivotally mounted at its opposite ends on bearings 12 carried by pillars 2, the pillars 2 closing openings at the ends of the body. The housing has suction slots 6 and is closed by a U-shaped shield 10 having a grille in its base and mounts 18 (19, Fig. 2) on its limbs for parts 8 (and 9, 11). Shield 10 and parts 8 (9 and 11) form a preassembled self-contained removable unit with resilient parts 21, 24 snapping into parts 22, 25 of the housing. Pillars 2 are connected by a trough 3 and the flex 13 is wound on cores 14 on housing 1 or on trough 3, or (Fig. 5), the flex 13 is wound about guide ribs (15) on trough 3.
