Abstract

1,177,488. Photographic silver halide developing agent dispersions. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Dec. 16, 1966 [Dec. 17, 1965], No.56425/66. Heading G2C. A photographic silver halide developing agent dispersion is made by mixing a water-insoluble silver halide developing agent such as 4-phenyl catechol with a non-proteinaceous alkali-permeable synthetic film-forming high molecular weight polymer in a common solvent such as ethyl acetate or cyclohexanone, dispersing the resultant solution in aqueous gelatine and thereafter removing the common solvent. The aqueous gelatine may be a light-sensitive silver halide gelatine emulsion, or it may be a simple gelatine solution for coating as a non-emulsion layer in a silver halide material or for coating on a support to form a photographic processing web. The polymer may be copoly (butylacrylate-acrylic acid), poly(butyl acrylate), poly(vinyl acetal phthalate), ethyl cellulose phthalate or poly(methyl methacrylate). Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,099,416.
