117,572. Akerlund, G. H. Jan. 14, 1918. Ventilating conduits and pipes, arrangements of.-In a heating and ventilating system by which heated air is supplied by pipes 23 to the various rooms of a building, the fresh-air tube 12 supplying fresh air to the heater 11 surrounds the smoke stack 13 and is surrounded by the foulair tube 19. The foul-air tube is reduced in diameter above the top of the fresh-air tube and is formed with outwardly arched tubular branches 19<a>, Fig. 2, between which the fresh air from outside passes to the top of the fresh-air tube. A wind-directed hood 14 is mounted over the top of the smoke stack and the foul-air tube, and the fresh-air inlet 27 is formed in a rotary chamber 25 having vanes 28 to hold it with the inlet against the wind.
