Abstract

1,175,543. Artists easels. D. G. MORTON. 6 April, 1967 [6 April, 1966], No. 15345/66. Heading A4H. An artists' easel comprises an extension column 3 telescopically mounted with respect to a rectangular support frame 2 pivotally mounted on a base frame 1. The extension column 3 is clamped in adjusted position by a device 36 and the support frame 2 is secured in angularly adjusted position by pivoted slotted struts 11 clamped by bolts. A table 5 is pivoted at its rear edge to a U-shaped guide frame (17) slidable in the support frame 2 and clamped in adjusted position by bolts 31. The table is also supported in adjusted inclined position by two struts 29 through slots 32 in which pass the clamping bolts 31. The rear edge of the table and a lip 15 on the front edge of the table serve as canvas holders when the table is folded. An upper canvas holder 40 is adjustable. A folding seat 4 is pivotally secured to the base frame 1.
