Abstract
1,171,748. Combine harvesters. O. J. WEDELL-WEDELLSBORG. 27 March, 1968 [28 March, 1967], No. 14673/88. Heading AlF. A waste collector assembly for a combine comprises a box 1, to the top 2 of which is an extension of the chaffer sieve 3. The box has a bottom 4 sloping downwardly towards a side wall 5 with a variable opening 6 communicating with a suction unit 9 and chute 10 returning material to the threshing drum or straw rack. The forward end of the box has a vertical wall 8, whilst the rear end is open. A downwardly inclined guard 11 may extend from the extension 2 to prevent light material blown over the extension from being sucked back into the chute 10. Heavy material, including grain, will pass through the extension sieve to be reprocessed, thus reducing wastage.
