Abstract

1,037,178. Combine-harvester. RANSOMES SIMS & JEFFERIES Ltd. Dec. 12, 1963 [Dec. 14, 1962], No. 47317/62. Heading A1F. A combine-harvester having a cutter 2, an auger 4 feeding cut crop to an elevator 6 which discharges to a thrashing mechanism 5 is characterized by a stone trap disposed between the auger and elevator. The stone trap comprises a trough 24 extending between a turned down flange 9 at the rear of the feed table 1 and the bottom wall 22 of the casing 12 surrounding the conveyer and extends the full width of the conveyer casing. It is stated that the trough fills with straw which provides a smooth path for the cut crop but allows stones to be accepted into the trough.
