Abstract

1,170,162. Spray-producers. H. J. HOEGEN DUKHOF MACHINEFABRIEK N.V. 8 March, 1967 [22 March, 1966], No. 10813/67. Heading B2F. In an agricultural spray device comprising a pipe 1 mounted on a boom and provided with a plurality of spaced nozzles 3, each nozzle comprises a swirl chamber 8 defined by two plates 6, 7, and includes a spring-mounted valve element 12 adapted to close the inlet 4 of the nozzle and to open under the pressure of the spray liquid. The plate 6 is provided with apertures which open into an outer annular groove in the plate 7, the groove communicating with a central cylindrical swirl chamber through passages tangential to the chamber 8. The spring 11 which biases the valve element 12 to close the inlet 4 of the nozzle may bear against the upper surface of the plate 6, as shown. The pipe 1 is carried by a vehicle, Fig. 1 (not shown).
