Abstract

1,169,159. Decorative seat-belt cover. R. A. FEIN. 5 June, 1968, No. 26741/68. Heading A3V. A detachable seat belt cover 20 comprises a central elongated decorative portion 21 connected to two retaining side strips 23, 26 which have detachable fastening means 29, 30 to hold the cover surrounding a seat belt portion 10 or 11. The decorative portion 20 is formed of fur such as chinchilla, mink, ocelot, leopard, tiger, kid, imitation fur, with a lining 22 sewn on to prevent stretching. The retaining strips 23, 26 are provided with a series of snap fasteners 29, 30, so that the cover 20 may be removed without disturbing the seat belt couplings 18. Alternatively buttons or sliding clasp fasteners may be used Fig. 4 (not shown). The inside surfaces of the retaining strips are finished to prevent slippage. The portion 10 of the belt is connected to a buckle element 14 which can be released by outward pivotal movement of a spring-biased releasing lever 15 and belt portion 11 passes round a gripping length adjustment roller 16 mounted in obliquely inclined slots 17. The length of portion 11 can be altered by releasing the roller 16 by urging it to the left as viewed in Fig. 1.
