Abstract
1,168,635. Mops and wringing apparatus. G. E. ROYALTY. 15 Nov., 1966, No. 51054/66. Heading A4F. Cleaning apparatus comprises in combination a multi-compartment receptacle 1 having end walls which form mop squeezing surfaces 6 and which terminate at the opening to the receptacle in flanges 5 extending inwardly of the receptacle, and a mop 9 having a handle 11 and a sponge head 14 mounted on a backing plate 10, the backing plate being provided with a curved portion 13 which is so engageable with the flanges 5 that by suitably moving the handle 11 when the sponge head 14 is in engagement with either of the surfaces 6 the mop can be wrung out. The mop may be provided with a squeegee 12 and the receptacle 1 may be provided in its side walls with cut-out portions 8 which form spouts for facilitating the emptying of cleaning liquid from the compartments 2, 3 of the receptacle.
