Abstract

1,166,172. Age hardenable iron base alloys. INTERNATIONAL NICKEL Ltd. Aug. 29, 1967 [Sept. 7, 1966], No. 39494/67. Heading C7A. An alloy, which is age-hardenable in the martensitic state, comprises such that the contents of Co and Mo (calculated as Mo + W/2) fall within the area ACDFGHA of the Figure, the balance, apart from impurities, being iron. If Ni is absent, there must be at least 25% Co and 15% Mo and the carbon content must be no more than 0À05%. The alloy may be solution treated at 815-1205‹C. and aged at 455-540‹C.
