Abstract
A titanium base alloy comprises:-<TABS:1073621/C6-C7/1> the balance, apart from impurities, being titanium in an amount of at least 51%. Up to 5% Sn may be included in the alloy replacing part of the Al in the proportion 3 parts of Sn per part of Al replaced. The alloy may also contain:- .Zr.up to 2% .Hf.up to 4% .Cu.up to 2% .Ni.up to 2% .Cr.up to 2% Si and Fe up to 0.5% in total when both are present and up to 2% each when there is only one 0 and N less than 0.15% in total .C.up to 1.25% .B.up to 0.2% .Th.up to 1% The alloy may be heat-treated at 650 DEG C
