Abstract

1,165,250. Sliding-door catches; collapsible doors. KINKEAD INDUSTRIES Inc. 31 July, 1967 [5 Aug., 1966], No. 35035/67. Headings E1J and E2A. A folding door comprising a number at sliding panels 11 which are guided by channels 12, is provided with catches in the form of spring plungers 17 mounted in end panels 16 to cooperate with ridges 20 at selected points along the channels 12. As shown, the ridges 20 are formed by embossing a strip inserted in slots 32 in the channel members, which are extrusions, and are so arranged that the door can be retained at both ends to close the opening or can be retained in folded condition at either end of its frame. The panels 11, 16 are joined by pieces 10 of flexible plastics and are supported by resiliently mounted rollers which accommodate misalignment. For the same purpose, the plungers 17 are shaped as shown to permit limited rocking movements in the vertical plane.
