Abstract

1,164,570. Protecting machine tool slides. KABELSCHLEPP G.m.b.H. 30 July, 1968 [21 Dec., 1967], No. 36289/68. Heading B3B. A protective cover for a machine tool slideway comprises several telescopic cover boxes each having externally of its rear wall 7 a collector groove 15 arranged to catch and drain away any liquid and/or dust penetrating beyond a lip seal 12 and wiper strip 11. The groove may be formed, as shown, by a spacer strip 13 and splash wall 14 or by an L-shaped strip which abuts or projects close to the underside of the next largest cover or by a crease or groove machined in the cover walls (Fig. 4, not shown).
