Abstract

1,164,244. Fertilizer distributer. F. LIET, M. LIET and C. H. LIET [trading as MACHINEFABRIEK TRIOLET], 9 Jan., 1968, No. 1223/68. Heading AID. An apparatus for spreading granular material has a hopper in which the stirrer is rotated manually. Material in the hopper falls through several variable apertures 48 in plate 49 on to the spreading disc 19 via a distributing device 58, the spreading disc being rotatable by a power driven shaft 17, and device 58 being rotatable manually and fixable in any position. The stirrer rod 20 is attached to a drive shaft 22, which may be coupled rigidly to a manually pivotable actuating lever 24 or coupled via a ratchet system (25) Fig. 3 (not shown) so that the lever turns the shaft 22 when pivoted in one direction, but not in the other. The ratchet consists of two parts, the lower being locked to the drive shaft, the other to the lever 24. A compression spring may be provided to force the upper part on to the lower. The lower part of the ratchet may be externally formed like a ratchet wheel which engages with pawl (38) Fig. 3. (not shown). A stirrer arm 47 is also provided being rotated by shaft 17. The frame on which the hopper rests has tubular sections 2 and 4 as shown and the hopper rests on carrier brackets 8 and is held in place by a hook 12 co-operating with a hinged member 9.
