[Also in Divisions B8, and G1] A transportable concrete preparation installation comprises a wheeled chassis (1) (Fig. 1, not shown), a machine frame 3 supportable by the chassis 1 or by extendable legs 46, a concrete mixing machine 8, an aggregate bin 17 which discharges the aggregates onto at least one conveyor belt 15 which conveys the aggregates to a weighing container 13 arranged above the mixing machine 8, and a charging unit 21 which is supportable, on the frame 3 and which comprises a multiple-jointed boom 27 and a a grab 32 operable to supply aggregates to the bin 17. The concrete mixing machine 8 which is mounted on a vertically adjustable frame 4 may be of the type having a drum 12 which is rotatable about a vertical axis 123 Fig. 5, and is provided with. a central discharge aperture closeable by a movable cylindrical member 128, the mixing machine 8 being (provided with an adjustable stationary mixing implement 173 'which directs towards the centre of the drum 12 the materials flung by centrifugal force towards the cylindrical wall 135 of the drum.
