Abstract

1,162,064. Colour television tubes. BUCKBEE-MEARS CO. 19 April, 1967 [10 Feb., 1967], No. 17924/67. Heading H1D. In a three-gun shadow mask colour television tube the shadow mask 11 has a flexible resilient rim 13 provided integrally with detents in the form of centrally apertured blisters or bubbles 14. These blisters or bubbles are latched on to locating pins 16 on the side walls of the tube face-plate 10 by flexure of the rim. The rim may be integral with the shadow mask or a metal strip welded to it. A shielding flange or flare may be clipped or otherwise attached to the rim and a further shield conforming to the envelope may be attached to the rim-flange combination.
