Abstract

1, 161, 413. Photographic materials for thermographic duplicating processes. KONISHIROKU PHOTO INDUSTRY CO. Ltd. Aug. 8, 1966 [Aug.6, 1965], No. 35260/66. Heading G2C. A duplicating process comprises (i) either imagewise exposing a silver halide emulsion which contains sulphur particles of less than 50 microns in the emulsion or in an overcoated layer and developing the resultant latent image or imagewise exposing a silver halide emulsion and contacting it with an image-receiving sheet containing sulphur of less than 50 microns in an overcoated layer or in the same layer no silver precipitant in the presence of a silver halide solvent and developer to produce a silver image (ii) contacting the silver image material with a receptor sheet and heating to imagewise transfer the sulphur and (iii) developing the sulphur image. The image-recovering material may comprise a support, a layer containing silver sulphide and phenylmercaptotetrazole, an optional intermediate layer, and a layer containing gelatine and sulphur particles. The silver halide material may contain a sulphur, gelatine dispersion in the silver halide layer or the silver halide layer be overcoated with such a dispersion; the sulphur slightly decreases speed and density of the material. The material bearing the silver image and the sulphur is contacted with a receptor sheet and heated to transfer the sulphur imagewise. The sulphur image is developed with a powder and fixed by heating a solvent vapour.
