1,160,790. Solvent-sensitive adhesive coating. NATIONAL STARCH & CHEMICAL CORP. 24 Oct., 1967 [10 Nov., 1966], No. 48210/67. Heading B2E. [Also in Division C3] A water remoistenable gummed substrate, e.g. of paper, is coated on at least one surface with the dried residue of an aqueous colloidal mixture of a "starch product" and a homo- or co-polymer of vinyl acetate. By "starchproduct" is meant any amylaceous substance, e.g. starch which may be oxidized, or enzyme- or acid-modified, and amylose and amylopectin fractions thereof, but specifically excludes dextrins and starch ethers or esters. Conventional coating methods are used. The colloidal mixture may also contain urea, sodium nitrate, dicyandiamide, petrolatum, sorbitol or polyacrylamide.
