Abstract

1,158,584. Bobbin stripper. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 24 Nov., 1966 [29 Nov., 1965], No. 50537/65. Heading D1F. A stripper for removing waste yarn from a bobbin reciprocated on a pneumatically powered carrier comprises a circular knife wheel rotated by the bobbin advancing in contact with the knife, means to adjust the distance of the knife from the bobbin, a plough behind the knife wheel to part the cut faces of the yarn mass on the bobbin to leave an unobstructed path for a second knife wheel, and one or more air jets in the plough to assist in the removal of the cut yarn on the return movement of the bobbin. The second wheel assists axis set at nearly 90‹ to the axis of the bobbin and its cutting edge spring loaded against the bobbin surface.
