Abstract

1,155,636. Container closures; boxes, &c. AMERICAN HOME PRODUCTS CORP. 29 Aug., 1967, No. 39395/67. Headings B8P and B8T. A resilient lid 17 for a box, &c. 10 having a beaded edge 16 is formed with a cut-away portion 14 which exposes the beaded edge so that the flanged edge 18 of the lid and the beaded edge 16 can be gripped simultaneously by the fingers, &c. of one hand to distort the lid and release it from the box, &c. Inwardly-directed detents 22 spaced around the lid flange snap under the beaded edge 16 of the box, &c. when the lid 17 is applied. The lid 17 may be made from a resilient transparent plastics material. The box, &c. 10 has handles 15 at its ends.
