Abstract

1,154,684. Stud and socket fastenings. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. 9 Feb., 1968 [10 Feb., 1967], No. 6574/67. Heading E2B. A fastener made of resilient plastics for securing two apertured panels 10, 11 together comprises a stud 13 and a bush 14, the stud having a head 16, a shank 15 and a pair of lugs 17, 18, the bush having a base with projections engaging the aperture in one panel 10 and a pair of resilient arches 30, 31 on which the lugs move when the stud is rotated. The two arches have each a central indentation in which a lug engages. The bush has a rectangular aperture with a central enlargement for the shank, and central projections 34, 35 and two pairs of side legs with outwardly directed shoulders to grip the aperture in the panel 10. The stud has a rib 21 which retains a washer between the rib and panel 11.
