Abstract

1,152,062. Roof structure. H. W. TOTTLE. 15 Sept, 1967 [16 June, 1966], No. 26868/66. Heading E1W. A roof structure comprises several, for example, two, pre-assembled sections which have been united (as at 21, 22), each section comprising joists 11, Fig. 13 or other ceiling support members and rafters 12 or other roof supporting members secured at positions between their ends to a rigid trussed frame 1 extending transversely of the joists and being capable of transferring at least a substantial proportion of the weight of the section to the walls of the building. The frames 1 may project at the ends for location within slots 5 Fig. 7 in the building walls. The sections A and B may be fully preformed and transported in the stacked arrangement of Fig. 3, or the sections may be constructed to fold flat as in Fig. 9, the frames 1 being inserted only after the parts of the section have been opened to the position shown in Fig. 13. The folded section shown in Fig. 9 incorporates roof covering 15, ridge plate 21, binder plate 22 and fascia 23.
