Abstract

1,151,045. Gelled fuels. COMMERCIAL SOLVENTS CORP. 8 March, 1968 [13 March, 1967], No. 11356/68 Heading C5G. A gelled fuel comprises a liquid C 1 -C 4 nitroparaffin and 0À1-20 wt. per cent of N-cocohydroxylbutramide based on the weight of the nitroparaffin. The fuel may also contain a sensitizer, e.g. aniline, diphenylethylene diamine, diethylamine, tetraethylene pentamine benzene, 1,2-butylene oxide, acetone, cyclohexane, 1,4-dioxan:, methanol, methylene chloride and methyl chloroform, a fuel component, e.g. carbon black, graphite, pentane, dodecane, cyclohexane, polyethylene, polypropylene, diethyl ketone, ethylbutyl ketone, dihexyl ketone, cyclohexanone, methylphenyl ketone, and the monomethyl and monoethyl ethers of ethylene glycol, burning rate catalysts, e.g. chrome acetyl acetonate, ammonium chromate and iron oxide and oxidants, e.g. guanidine nitrate, pentaerythritol tetranitrate, cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine, ammonium nitrate and lithium nitrate.
