[Also in Division B8] A laminate for making containers or for lining them comprises a backing sheet 2 of paper, card or board to which is secured a rigid layer 1 of soft expanded plastics material e.g. polystyrene or polyurethane divided into sections 4-7 by parallel grooves 3. The layer 1 may be bonded or adhered to the backing 2. A container made from the laminate is shown in Fig. 3 and includes end closure blanks 11. The container may be secured with adhesive tape, or tabs 10, 13 which may be glued, stapled, or engaged in slots 15. Additional cushioning layers (14) of resilient foam may be provided internally. Fig. 5 (not shown).
