Abstract

1,146,365. Rotary pumps. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. July 21, 1967 [July 22, 1966], No.33581/67. Heading F1F. A rotary vacuum pump comprises a fluid-tight casing 1, Fig. 1, having suction and delivery ducts 4, 5 coaxially disposed on an axis X X' and two identical cylindrical chambers 6,7 having parallel axes symmetrically disposed on opposite sides of the axis X X' which house respectively substantially cylindrical members 8, 9 carrying blade members 14,15 of "I" cross-section which move synchroneously in opposite directions with circular translating movements and out-of-phase by # radians. As the members 8, 9 move they just touch the walls of the chambers 6, 7 to achieve sealing without rubbing with a slight clearance existing between the adjacent limbs 14a, 15a of the blades which interrupt direct communication between the ducts.
