Abstract

1,145,394. Knitting-machines. WILDT MELLOR BROMLEY Ltd. 29 Feb., 1968 [17 March, 1967], No. 12637/67. Heading D1C. A patterning unit for a circular knitting machine with a revolving cam box comprises a bank of presser slides 13 adapted to act on the butts of the needles or jacks which are selec-. tively actuated by a corresponding stack of auxiliary levers 15 controlled from a pattern control. The levers 15 when actuated urge the slides 13 towards the butts of the needles or jacks whereby a selection is made and a catch lever 16 in the form of a spring arm locks the levers 15 in their operative position to retain the slides 13 in their projected paths. Prior to the next selection of the slides the catch lever is tripped to release the levers 15 and the slides 13 return to an inoperative position under the influence of springs 25, 26. The slides 18 may be divided into groups and each group may be selectively controlled.
