Abstract
1,145,313. Coupling agricultural implements to tractors. JOHN DEERE-LANZ VERWALTUNGS A.G. 3 Jan., 1967 [3 Jan., 1966], No. 388/67 Heading A1P. A tractor power lift mechanism having a three-point coupling with hooks for the rapid attachment of an implement is characterized in that the upper link is extensible and is connected to the lower links so that the height interval between the upper and the lower hooks is variable. The upper link 2 is longitudinally adjustable both by a mechanical device 5 and a hydraulic device 6. The upper link is connected to the lower links 3, 4 via lifting links 27 by means of spacing rods 26 which are pivoted to the upper link by a rocking lever 25 having a torsion spring 22 whereby the upper link is biased into its retracted position. The spacing rods 26 are adjustable in length and in the retracted position of the upper link engage a spring biased locking pin 33 to retain the implement pin 11 in the hook. The rods are connected to the lift links 27 by a slot 60 in which engages a pin 58 which is arranged to engage in a recess 62 in the operative position of the linkage. In an embodiment the spacing rods 26 are connected directly to the lower links and the two rods are connected by an adjustable bar. The hydraulic device 6 may be double acting thus dispensing with the spring 22. In operation when the linkage is lowered, reduced pressure in the. hydraulic device 6. allows the spring 22 to pivot the rocking lever 25 to extend the upper link 2 which is then engaged under the implement pin 11. Raising of the linkage pressurises the hydraulic device 6 to retract the upper link which is first raised and then lowered, whilst pulling the implement so that its lower pins engage hooks 64.
