Abstract

1,143,516. Grinding aid. W. R. GRACE & CO, 5 June, 1967 [10 June, 1966], No. 25893/67. Heading C1H. [Also in Division B2] A grinding aid for minerals comprises an amine salt of an aryl hydroxy compound in which the hydroxyl is the salt-forming functional group. Minerals exemplified are cement, phosphate rock, iron ore beryllia, limestone, gypsum, clay and bauxite. The. grinding aid may be present in an amount 0À0001-1% by wt. of the mineral. Examples describe the addition to Portland cement of triethanolamine phenoxide or the reaction product of morpholine and triethanolamine with phenol and cresol.
