Abstract

1,143,252. Ventilators. AIR DEVICES Inc. 4 March, 1966, No. 9710/66. Heading F4V. An air diffuser, for mounting in a ceiling or wall, comprises inner and outer rectangular frames F-G and B, plates 90, 91 and 92, carrying oblique baffles, mounted on a rod 100 fixed to the inner frame by washers 102 engaging in slots (104, Fig. 3b) thereon, an outwardly extending flange 44 of the inner frame receiving a sealing gasket J which abuts an outwardly extending portion 21 of the outer frame, and the frames being held together by a releasable spring clip member k engaging a screw 39 on the inner frame and slots 33 in the outer frame. The rectangular frames are formed from extruded side and end members which may be welded together or connected by angle bars. A sealing gasket may also be provided between the portions 21 of the outer frame and the ceiling or wall. Different embodiments show variation in the number and position of the baffles and plates and in the shape of the frame around the outlet. A damper with a flexible cable actuating member may be provided to regulate the flow.
