Abstract

1,141,145. Invalid chairs. BENCRAFT Ltd. 25 July, 1966 [23 July, 1965], No. 31387/65. Heading B7B. A collapsible invalid chair, having a pair of side frames linked as described in Specification 1,141,144, comprises a catch for securing together a tube 33 of a side frame, an end 34 of a removable arm-rest 12, and a recessed part 20 of a removable foot-rest support tube 14. The catch comprises a pointed pin spring-urged into the U-shaped recess of the part 20 to engage an aperture in the tube 33 and a recess 22 in the arm-rest end 34, and disengageable therefrom by manual rotation of a handle 28 actuating cam plates 27, 26 mounted respectively on the pointed pin and on the tube 14. The tube 14 is carried on a rod 15 which may be telescopically fitted into a tube 16 of the side frame so that the tube 14 may be rotated about the rod 15. Each arm-rest 12 has one end 37 hooked over a lug 36 on a removable upright 35 which supports a collapsible back 10.
