Abstract

1,137,264. Weaving pile fabrics. EDWIN FIELD & SONS Ltd. 24 April, 1967 [28 April, 1966], No. 18607/66. Heading D1K. Uncut pile fabrics are woven face to face by taking the pile warp yarns 11, 12 from one base fabric to the other and looping them round temporary wefts 15, 21. These wefts are held in place by monofils 16, 17 which are anchored at the back of the loom and shed by the healds; the monofils end between the fell and the breast beam so that the fabrics slide off them, thereby freeing the temporary wefts, which are discarded.
