Abstract
1,136,995. Packages; collapsible containers; bags. C. FIQUET, and R. LEPLAT. 8 Nov., 1966 [9 Nov., 1965; 28 Sept., 1966], No. 50034/66. Headings B8C, B8D, B8K and B8T. Pasty or liquid products are dispensed from a bag 2 of elastomeric material, e.g. plastified p.v.c., polyethylene, or super-polyamide, one end of the bag being attached to an outlet 7 of a casing 1 and the other to a rotatable end piece 5 of the casing so that the bag may be twisted. The shape of the bag ensures that twisting begins at the end opposite the outlet, and the bag material allows for shortening of the bag as it is twisted. To form the bags a tube 11 is provided at intervals with pairs of nozzles 12, Fig. 6, attached to the tube, e.g. by high frequency welding or by the use of an adhesive, symmetrically on either side of the longitudinal axis of the tube. The tube is then filled and welded between the pairs of necks as at 13. Single bags may then be cut from the tube, and each bag mounted in a casing 1 by screwing the nozzles into the end members of the casing. In a modification each bag is of generally rectangular shape, Fig. 8 (not shown), a zone (15) of reduced resistance to twisting being formed at one end; or the respective nozzles 12 may be attached to the bag by flanges which differ in size, shape or rigidity; or one set of the nozzles 12 may be attached to thinner parts of the bags. The bags may have nozzles of square crosssection, Fig. 9 (not shown), fixed to the casing ends by forked members (19) engaging grooves in the nozzles. A pad (23), Figs. 10-11 (not shown), of porous material and having a central hole (24) may be carried by an end piece of the casing and be closed by a cap (24) having a member (25) for piercing the bag neck. The casing may be in the form of a pistol, Fig. 12 (not shown), having a trigger which causes an end member (29) to rotate and thereby twist the bag. The casing may be equipped with a shaving brush, or tooth brush.
