Abstract
1,132,743. Break-spinning apparatus. VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY. 25 March, 1966 [7 Dec., 1965], No. 13237/66. Heading D1D. A yarn-outlet element for apparatus for break-spinning using a rotary spinning chamber, comprises a support member constituting a slide-path for the yarn entering the channel, through which it leaves the apparatus, the length, as measured along the yarn, of the path from the inlet of the channel, and of the path from the collecting-surface varying during a revolution of the spinning-chamber. As shown, the path is provided by a ring 11 disposed above the channel 6 through which the spun yarn is withdrawn, and eccentrically of it. During the rotation of the chamber, when the yarn is in the position shown, the friction of the yarn against the ring produces a concentration of twist in the portion b between the ring and the collecting surface 3; the comparatively low twist in the portion a between the inlet 9 and the ring enables the twist imparted by the relative rotation between the chamber and the axially-fixed withdrawing rollers 7 to run back into the portion a. As the yarn rotates from the position shown through 180‹, the portion a gradually becomes shorter, and the twist in it is transferred to section b in which the frictional effect of the ring, and consequently the concentration of twist, is decreasing. The effect of the ring, therefore, is to strengthen the yarn between the delivery channel and the collecting surface, and reduce the chance of breakage.
