Abstract
1,132,300. Epoxy resin impregnated glass mat laminates. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. 6 Nov., 1967, No. 50318/67. Addition to. 1,061,699. Heading B5N. [Also in Division C3] Laminates are prepared using three plies of chopped glass strand mat and a reaction mixture comprising 100 parts by weight of an epoxy resin " Epikote " (Registered Trade Mark) 816,. 25. parts of. 4,4<SP>1</SP>-diaminodiphenylmethane, 16À7 partsby wt. of sulpholane (tetramethylenesulphone), 4À15 parts by wt. of dimethyl sulphoxide and 4À15 parts of salicylic acid. When the laminate was prepared at 0-3‹ C. it developed a flexural strength of 19,000 p.s.i. after 7 days. When prepared at 23‹ C. it developed a strength of 28,500 p.s.i. after 7 days.
