Abstract
1,131,608. Resilient bush mountings. SALZGITTER MASCHINEN A.G. 31 May, 1966 [28 June, 1965], No. 24215/66. Heading F2S. A resilient bush mounting, e.g. for the pendulum suspension of centrifuging drums for sugar, comprises individual resilient segments 4 which abut each other at 5 to form a ring and which are vulcanized to inner steel segments 6, which abut at 7, and to outer steel segments 8 which are spaced at 9, the spaces 9 coinciding with radially-extending grooves in the resilient material which is displaced in the grooves when the bush is preloaded in radial compression. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 3, not shown, the resilient member and the outer steel member are each formed as a whole ring, the inner steel member being formed of spaced segments which correspond with outwardly - directed radial grooves in the inner face of the resilient member. In another arrangement of the bush, generally as shown in Fig. 2, the resilient member and the inner steel member are both formed as continuous rings. A centrifuge (2), Fig. 1 (not shown), is mounted in a track-pot housing (1) by means of a bush made of segments (4) as shown, the radial compression of the bush being obtained by inserting a sleeve (11) into the housing and securing it with bolts (12). The resilient material 4 is made of rubber or resilient plastics.
