Abstract

1,130,109. Coating webs. FUJI SHASHIN FILM, K.K. 17 May, 1967 [19 May, 1966], No. 22893/67. Heading D1L. In the coating of a continuously travelling web 2 by an extrusion device 1 an electric field and a magnetic field are applied to the bridge of coating material 6 formed between the extrusion device and the web. A hollow back-up roller 4 of non-magnetisable material supports the web and has a stationary magnet 5 mounted therein. A high voltage generator 7 in conjunction with roller 4 gives an electric field to the bridge 6, the coating material 3 being electrically earthed.
