Abstract
112,849. Ellison, G., and Anderson, J. March 5, 1917. Contacts. - A cont,act-finger a, particularly for motor controllers, is provided with an eccentrically-pivoted contact-roller or cam e which is free to rock and to move bodily and is pressed against the complementary contact c by a spring-plunger h. The rocking movement imparted by the contact c renders the roller self-adjusting and, when the contact c leaves the roller, the spring-plunger returns the roller to the neutral position and causes a quick break. The roller may be provided with eccentric pins f, Fig. 1, moun-ted in slots g in the finger, or, as shown in Fig. 3, a hollow roller e may engage a pin f on the finger, the roller thus being free to rotate as well as to rock and move bodily. The spring-plunger may be rounded off to permit the roller to rock towards the back or the front and bed on the contacts c.
