Abstract

112,493. Mudie, J. W. Jan. 5, 1917. Blast-apparatus.-In smoke-consuming apparatus of the type in which a mixture of steam and air is injected from the front of a furnace, above the fire, through a pipe having a flaring outlet 9, superheated steam is used for the inducing jet, and the supply of air is regulated by a circular plate 13 adapted to slide on the steam-supply pipe 12. The flaring outlet is flattened as shown, its longer dimension being arranged horizontally.
